Baby Shower Games: Good Clean Adult Fun!A baby shower does not seem complete without baby shower games. Even though the baby celebrant cannot participate, the invited guests (mostly mothers or would-be mothers) really look forward to them in every such gathering. The games are for the enjoyment of all the parents attending the event, actually. There are a number of games one can find on the Internet, but you can also improvise to give your baby shower games that personalized touch. For example, for that popular game called "blindfolded diapering," teams are formed where the parents take turns in removing the diaper from the doll and putting another one back on; the first team to finish wins. How do you personalize this game? There are lots of ways, one of which is to use the old-style cloth diapers instead of the disposable ones. The old-style diapers require the use of big safety pins. Not all modern-day parents know how to do this, and they get all clumsy and they sometimes prick their fingers or the baby doll. In addition to awarding the winning team who finishes first, the team whose doll and/or fingers get the most pin pricks gets penalized. Another popular baby shower game is the "pacify the baby." This is one variation of that equally famous children's party game, "tail the donkey," but in place of a photo of a donkey and a tail, you use a picture or a sketch of a baby and a pacifier with a double-back tape. It is fun to watch blindfolded participants pin the pacifier on the nose, ear, cheek, or even the derrier of the baby's picture. The one who pins the pacifier nearest to the baby's mouth in the picture wins, of course. It is also assumed that there are no prizes in monetary form. Prizes to winners in these baby shower games are in the form of small tokens, like photo frames or little paper swans (pink if the mother to-be is expecting a baby girl, or blue or yellow if she's expecting a baby boy), or something like that. More than these small tokens are the fun of getting together in this occasion and spicing it all up with baby shower games. |
